Kennedys Fine Chocolates is a small family handmade chocolate making company based in Orton, midway between Kendal and Penrith. The brother and sister team of David and Alison have been making luxury chocolates there since 1991. The fine handmade chocolates are made from the best quality chocolate and ingredients. More than 80 chocolate varieties are produced - an unrivalled range from which to choose your own special selections! Boxes of assorted chocolates are available containing between 6 and 192 chocolates! There are a range of decorative boxes to choose from, including floral and heart designs. Wedding favour and hotel guest gift boxes can also be supplied.

Other items include chocolate novelties, hot chocolate, turkish delight, nougat and cookies.

In addition to the shop there is the Conservatory Coffee House, serving light refreshments with wait-on service,. A selection of home baking, homemade soup and homemade ice creams is available. The luxury chocolate cake served slightly warmed with homemade vanilla ice cream and Kennedys Hot Chocolate are well established favourites. There are viewing windows in the café where you can see the chocolate makers at work, and a short video film shows the various processes. The main making days are Monday to Friday, with less going on in the production room at weekends.
